While Europe has several wonderful destinations, there are a few in particular that are ideal for summer travel. With so many cheap international flights available, what’s stopping you? Here are the top 5 picks:

1. London: With a reputation for rather gloomy weather some of the year, when the sun come out each summer the city of London really comes alive. Locals and visitors alike flock to the many outdoor open spaces like Regent’s or Hyde Park, and pubs put their tables outside so patrons can dine al fresco. Enjoy Shakespeare performances in Regent’s Park at twilight, or simply stroll through the city after dinner–the sun sets well after 9:30 or even 10 PM in the summer months.

2. The Greek Isles: For travelers who want to spend their summer days asleep on the beach, and their summer nights living it up in beachside clubs and bars, the islands of Santorini and Mykonos are your premier destination. Spend the days along beaches like Elia and Platys Gialos, where the white sandy shores and specked with sunbathers and swimmers.

3. Rome: There is truly no bad time to visit this incredible city. As a cultural, historical, and religious center, there is plenty to do and see here. Much of the sightseeing is done by foot, as the town is primarily pedestrian. Therefore, it is ideal to travel when the weather is pleasant. Visit the Vatican City, complete with St. Peter’s Basilica, and then be transported back in time with a trip to the Pantheon. Don’t miss a trip to Trevi Fountain, which only has water flowing in the summer months.

4. Munich: This city famed for it’s beer halls and Bavarian culture heads outside each summer, making it the perfect summer destination. Even the Deutsches Museum, the oldest science museum in the world, has some outdoor displays in the nice weather!

5. Paris: This “City of Lights” is best seen at night. So visit in the summer months, when the evenings are not to cool to walk around and see the Eiffel Tower lit up, or the Champs Elysee at it’s finest.
