Whether your idea of the perfect stag do holiday involves adventure activities, going on bar crawls or watching live sport, there are fantastic destinations across Europe where you and your mates will be able to have a great time and send the groom off into married life in style.

One city guaranteed to make for a top-quality stag do is Amsterdam.

The Dutch capital has a wealth of bars and clubs but for a slightly different drinking experience, you could go on a beer bike tour where you pedal through the city as a group on a specially-crafted bicycle complete with its own keg!

A range of top-quality beers originate from the Netherlands and if you want to find out more about one of the leading drinks brands on your stag do go on the Heineken Experience. Here, you’ll be able to learn about the premium lager’s 150-year history and even taste it for yourself.

But there’s much more to do in Amsterdam than just drinking, so why not dine at one of the city’s best restaurants – which include Restaurant Los Argentinos and Brasserie Harkem – before a spot of gambling at the Holland Casino? Here you’ll be able to play blackjack, poker and other card games.

However, if football is your thing, make sure you go on a guided tour of the Amsterdam Arena, the home of top Dutch side Ajax, before watching the team in action.

For a really adventurous stag do, head to Bratislava. The Slovakian capital offers a range of thrilling pursuits, including 4×4 off-road driving and paintballing – activities that you can book through the Predators company.

If you want to do some sightseeing during the day, stop by the Presidential Palace in the old town district. However, you may also want to return here at night as you’ll find several restaurants – including Modra Gula and Butterfly – as well as fantastic bars like Kartell and Duplex are just a short distance away from the palace.

Prague is certainly a popular stag do destination as not only can you and your mates race go-karts and participate in clay pigeon shooting, but there’s a number of great bars and clubs that you can party in.

These include Karlovy Lazne – which is set across five floors each specialising in a different kind of music – and the Hawaiian-themed Aloha bar. If you want to take in some live bands during the stag do, visit the Reduta Jazz Club or the Palace Akropolis.

But there are also plenty of things to see during the day, including the amazing Prague Castle and the historic Charles Bridge, named in honour of Charles IV.

A little closer to home, Dublin definitely has enough craic for you and the lads to enjoy a great stag weekend. You can play golf on a number of nearby championship-standard courses – including St Margaret’s, which has hosted the Ladies Irish Open and Irish Senior’s Open among other events – or have a flutter on the horses at Leopardstown Racecourse.

Ireland is famous the world over for producing Guinness and to find out more about the iconic stout, stop by the Guinness Storehouse on your stag do. By going on a guided tour of the brewery, you’ll get the chance to sample the drink as well as see the world’s largest pint glass.

Once the tour is over, head to the building’s Gravity Bar for a few drinks before really starting your stag do and visiting the hottest nightclubs and bars like RiRa, Alchemy and Club M.

Glasgow also has a fantastic nightlife and you’ll find that its Bamboo club, situated on West Regent Street, is one of the best places to be. Open six nights a week to 03:00 GMT, there’s plenty of opportunity for you and your mates to party and have fun here.

But there’s so much more to do on stag dos in Glasgow. You can see live bands at the Barrowland Ballroom, watch a home game of either Rangers or Celtic – the Scottish city’s football teams – or race around Scotkart, Scotland’s largest indoor go-karting centre.

And if you’ve worked up an appetite, make sure that you and the boys head to the Red Onion Restaurant for some dinner. Calvin Harris and George Clooney are just some of the celebs to have eaten here, so it could be the perfect place to get your stag weekend off to a flying start.
